Jane Kramer is an American singer and songwriter who is well-known due to the originality of her vocals and heavy-hitting lyrical eloquence. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, she garners international recognition for her astonishing singing and songwriting skills. Her songs are often gritty, memorable, and reflective. She knows the roots of musical culture, her beloved Appalachia's lore, and the music traditions.
Kramer is a very engaging live performer, well-aware of the connection between performer and audience, and does her job very elegantly and effortlessly. During the early days of her career, she spent almost seven years as a founding member, songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist in The Barrel House Mamas, a nationally-touring, all-female Appalachian Folk Asheville based group.
In 2013, Kramer recorded and released her debut solo album entitled “Break & Bloom.” In February 2016, another album released by Kramer was entitled “Carnival of Hopes.” In April of 2018, she returned to the studio to record her third full-length studio album entitled “Valley of the Bones." It was a triumphant collection of original songs, exploring and illustrating human love. The album was engineered, produced, and mixed by Adam Johnson, with Chris Rosser and Kramer herself co-producers.
