James Carothers Information
James Carothers is a Nashville-based honky-tonk crooner who is best known for his stone-country spot-on and original impressions of many country music’s greatest icons. He received a standing ovation that followed his Grand Ole Opry debut performance at the Ryman Auditorium on January 17, 2020. Alan Jackson recently selected Carothers from the crop of rising artists who played his self-owned honky-tonk on downtown Nashville’s famous “Lower Broadway” entitled AJ’s Good Time Bar. He was selected to open a show for Jackson at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
For years, Carothers has performed at private events, fairs, festivals, and opening slots. He traveled to the US, Norway, Scotland, Japan, and Canada to perform. He returned to Tennessee in 2015 to pursue his country music career. Carothers has successfully built a large fan base of folks drawn through the doors. Since 2015, Carothers has played more than 1,500 corporate, public, and private events.
Carothers released an album entitled “Songs and Stories” on November 22, 2019. His other notable releases include EP Honky Tonk Land (Jane 2014), his debut full-length original album entitled “Relapse” (May 2017), and Still Country, Still King: A Tribute to George Jones (September 2018).
