Iration Information
Iration is a reggae/pop band from Santa Barbara, California. Everyone in the group has Hawaiian ancestry. Reggae, dub, pop, and rock are all included in their lineup. Iration was formed in the college town of Isla Vista. It began by covering reggae songs by other artists at schools, including Cal Poly SLO and UC Davis. The band members gained notoriety for their live shows and recorded an EP, New Roots 2006.
No Time for Rest, their first full-length album, topped the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart in 2007. The song "Cookie Jar" hit the charts in Hawaii on 93.9 DaBeat and appeared on Fuel TV's Triple Crown of Surfing coverage.
Backyard Sessions: Malibu Edition, Iration's first "official" live album, was published on all digital platforms on November 18, 2022. They would use it for their debut NoCap Shows live stream but ultimately chose to record an album. Iration released "New Style," a slightly revamped version of their 2022 tour debut single, on February 6, 2023. After that, Iration said that the "New Style" premiere will take place at Kamp Fest on February 9, a day before the official release date on February 10.
Daytrippin released six new songs on October 6, 2023, including "Can't Look Back," "Strange," "California Dreams," "Remedy," "The Stream," "Comedown" (feat. Claire Wright), and four singles ("IRL," "Daytrippin," "Last Night" (feat. Maxi Priest), along with "New Style''. In addition to a Spotify listening party on the 10th and an AMA on Reddit, the band organized a Daytrippin launch party after Reggae Rise Up Las Vegas.
