Inspector Information
Inspector is a Mexican band founded in November 1995 from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. The group is known for fusing classic Jamaican rhythms perfectly with classical Mexican pop. The band members have a unique style of blending reggae, nostalgia, and ska with a romantic style of their own. Inspector is an essential part of the musical movement called the Avanzada Regia. The current lineup of the band consists of Jesús Arriaga Moreno 'Padrino' (Tenor Sax), Big Javy (Voice), Homero Ontiveros (Teclado ans Keyboards), Chapa (Drums), Fabian Dee (Guitar), Gil Treviño (Trumpet), Honorio (Bass), and Grillo (Trombone).
Blanco y Negro was an independent album by Inspector released in 1993 as the first album by the band. This release made the group well-known in the music scene of their hometown and surrounding cities. In 1998, Inspector won the prize "Nuestro Rock" for the best new group. The group was soon signed to Universal Music Mexico and officially released a platinum-certified album entitled Alma en Fuego.
Some of the notable singles included in the album Alma en fuego are "Amnesia," "Amargo Adiós," "Cara de chango," "Aguante," and "Sin rencor." A few of the other hit albums released by Inspector are Unidad, Cerveza y Ska (2004), Amar O Morir (2006), Inspector (2009), Ska A La Carta Vol 1 (2011), Inspección Retroacústica (2014), and Páginas en Blanco (2018). Inspector was nominated for a Lo Nuestro Award for Rock/Alternative Album of the Year.
