Howard Jones Information
Howard Jones (July 20, 1970) is an American metalcore vocalist. In 1996, Jones released an album as a member of the underground band Driven. After that, from 1997 to 2004, he was a member of Blood Has Been Shed. He replaced Jesse Leach as the lead singer of Killswitch Engage in 2002. While he was a member of Killswitch Engage, the band put out three albums: The End of Heartache, As Daylight Dies, and a second self-titled album. All three of these albums were certified gold.
Onstage appearances by him and his latter band Light the Torch—who also toured with Killswitch Engage—included singing this and other songs from his tenure with the group, frequently in duet with Leach. John Sankey (Devolved, Fear Factory, and Divine Heresy), guitarist Francesco Artusato (All Shall Perish), and Jones (Devil You Know) formed a new band.
The remaining band members regrouped under a new name, Light the Torch, and a new drummer when Sankey left and tried to claim the copyright of the band's name. Jones collaborated with heavy metal YouTuber Jared Dines and producer Hiram Hernandez on a new Sion project, which released "The Blade" in March 2021.
