George Watsky Information
George Virden Watsky, known professionally as Watsky, is an American author, hip hop artist, and poet. He was born on September 15, 1986, in San Francisco, California. Watsky attended San Francisco University High School and then completed his higher studies at Emerson College in Boston.
At the age of 15, Watsky started slam poetry. His poetry incorporates social and political themes. In 2006, he appeared in Season Six, Episode Two of Def Poetry Jam, where he performed his poem "V for Virgin.” He continued to implement spoken word into his career as a musician with some of the hits like "Cannonball," “Tiny Glowing Screens Pt. 2", and “Springtime in New York.”
Watsky officially started his music career in 2009 when he produced a 15-track hip hop album entitled “Watsky” with a successful single “Stupidass.” In 2010, he released another album, Guilty Pleasures. In 2011, he broke out as a rapper with his viral video "Pale kid raps fast." He went on to record several hip hop albums, including Cardboard Castles (2013), All You Can Do (2014), x Infinity ( 2016), and Complaint (2019).
In 2014, Watsky's YouTube channel was ranked at no.51 among the top 100 Channels. He appeared in season 4 of Arrested Development as Chris Kazmierczak in 2013. He has also appeared in many Epic Rap Battles of History videos. To date, Watsky has played the characters of Fourth Doctor (of Doctor Who), William Shakespeare, and Edgar Allan Poe. In the film Blindspotting, he appeared as Tanner.
