Gary Puckett Information
Gary Puckett is famous for being the part of Gary Puckett & The Union Gap (initially credited as The Union Gap featuring Gary Puckett). It was an American pop rock group that was founded in the late 1960s. Gary Puckett is the founder of the group along with Gary 'Mutha' Withem, Kerry Chater, Dwight Bement, and Paul Wheat bread. The band ultimately disbanded after growing unhappy for a while, and Gary Puckett went on to pursue his solo career along with collaborations.
Gary Puckett earned moderate success with his first album as a solo artist entitled The Gary Puckett Album on Columbia (1971). For two years after that, he nearly disappeared from music and chose to study dance and to act as well as theatrical productions within and outside Los Angeles. In 1981, Puckett performed a comeback tour, which was engineered by music writer Thomas K. Arnold. He was also on the bill in the 1986 first major Monkees reunion tour.
Later, Puckett released a 2001 holiday album entitled Gary Puckett at Christmas, which was followed by his performance at the Moondance Jam near Walker, Minnesota, in 1994 and 2002. By the year 2010, Puckett successfully continued to perform live concerts all across the United States. This also included the "package" oldies circuit tours with the Association and the Lettermen.
For the first time on June 10, 2010, Puckett performed in Union Gap Washington, which is the namesake city of his beloved former band, Gary Puckett and The Union Gap.
