Florida Chamber Orchestra Information
In 1995, the Florida Chamber Orchestra was established, and in January 1996, they gave their inaugural concert in Coral Gables. The Florida Chamber Orchestra recently made the Miami Dade County Auditorium in Little Havana its default concert venue. The Florida Chamber Orchestra's mission is to foster an appreciation for classical music among the state's youth by uniting the region's different musical communities under a shared musical identity.
The concerts performed by the Florida Chamber Orchestra cover the gamut from classical to modern to holiday-themed. Romantic Composers features the piano talents of Leonel Morales and the group performing works by Chopin and other romantic composers; Christmas Is in the Air features Dunia Ojeda, a 2019 La Voz US finalist; and An Operetta Fantasy, created and directed by Manny Albelo, features the group performing several well-known operettas.
