Fighting Gravity Information
Fighting Gravity is an American music band that was founded in 1993. The group originated and is based out of Richmond, Virginia. It deals in ska, pop, and rock genres. The current lineup of Fighting Gravity consists of guitarist David "Tree" Triano, trombonist/turntablist Stefan Demetriadis, drummer Mike Boyd, and trombonist/percussionist John Utley. Other members include Sinakone Phrakhansa, guitarists Philippe Herndon, and Rich Stine. The band was formally known as Boy O Boy. It was created when the founding members were attending Virginia Tech.
In 2017, Fighting Gravity performed some reunions shows. The last of the year was performed during the Broad Street Tour as part of the 102.1 The X Miracle at The National in Richmond. The performance took place on December 26 and 27 in 2019. To date, the band has sold more than 300,000 albums. Also, the group members have performed before more than one million people, nationally and internationally. The band is highly supported by 1,500 street team members and 25,000 email subscribers.
Some of the notable albums released by the band are Boy O Boy O Boy (1991), Shish-ska-BOB (1992), Bobsled (1992), No Stopping, No Standing (1994), Forever=One Day (1996), Everywhere and In Between (1998) (MP3.com album), You and Everybody Else (1998), and Hello Cleveland (1999) (live album).
