Eluveitie Information
Eluveitie is a Swiss folk metal band that belongs to Winterthur, Zurich. It was founded in 2002 by Chrigel Glanzmann. He had failed numerous times while creating an actual band. Chrigel formed Eluveitie as a studio project. The project featured different musicians on each track. As the band went a little old, Chrigel decided to keep Eluveitie and make it a real band. After adding nine more musicians to the group, it became a full ten-piece band.
In 2003, the band released its first EP “Ven.” In June 2006, Eluveitie released a full-length album called “Spirit.” The band was signed by the local record label Nuclear Blast. Eluveitie caught huge attention when they released their debut major-label album called “Slania” on 15 February 2008. The album reached number 72 on the German charts and number 35 on the Swiss charts. In 2008 the band announced another project called “Evocation.” In April 2009, the group released the first part of the project named “Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion.”
On September 17, 2009, Eluveitie announced that they were working on the next album “Everything Remains (As It Never Was).” The album was officially released on February 19, 2010. In 2012, Eluveitie released another metal album called “Helvetios.” The album received very positive reviews. The band released another album on August 1, 2014, titled “Origins.” In June 2015, Eluveitie announced that it would release a lead single from the album titled “King” on 13 June, the same month. The video of the song was released on July 3.
Eluveitie didn’t break the chain of their quality releases and kept releasing more work. After the launch of their album “Origins,” the band released two more albums such as Evocation II: Pantheon (2017) and Ategnatos (2019).
