Elder Island Information
Elder Island is a Bristol-based British rock band. The current lineup of the group consists of Katy Sargent (vocals, cello, bass), David Havard (guitar, keys, drums, bass), and Luke Thornton (bass, drums, guitar, keys). Trouvaille, the group’s original moniker, was formed as an experimental folk investigation while studying various art degrees in Bristol and South Wales.
Elder Island’s 2014 debut, a house-inflected track, was played on BBC Radio 6. Along with recording and producing, the band continued to perform part-time jobs such as interior decoration, club management, graphic design, and art department work at Aardman Animations.
The Omnitone Collection, Elder Island’s first full-length album, was published in 2019. Swimming Static, the band’s second album, was released in 2021. Seeds in Sand (2016) and Welcome State/Bonfires (2017) are two EPs they’ve published. In support of the album, the band toured North America in 2019. Feral, the group’s new album, will be released in November 2020.
