Efterklang Information
Efterklang is an indie rock group that was founded in December 2000 and originated from Copenhagen, Denmark. The music of the group is defined as Indie folk, dream pop, indie rock, electronic, synthpop, post-rock, darkwave, and glitch. The name of the band originates from the Danish word for "remembrance" or "reverberation." Efterklang was created by Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen, and Rasmus Stolberg. Rune Mølgaard and Thomas Kirirath Husmer are the two former members of the group. Additionally, Katinka Fogh Vindelev (vocal, piano), Martyn Heyne (guitar, keys), and Tatu Rönkkö (drums) are supporting members during live performances.
Tripper was the first album by Efterklang, which was released in 2004. It was followed by their second album entitled Parades released in October 2007. It was named by Clash as the 38th best album released between April 2005 to April 2009. Their third full-length album was Magic Chairs, released in February 2010. The album won IMPALA's European Independent Album of the Year in February and was well received by Pitchforkmedia.
Two other notable albums by Efterklang are Leaves: The Colour of Falling 2016 and Altid Sammen 2019. Performing Parades and The Piramdia Concert are two Live albums by the band. Some of the EPs released by Efterklang are Springer (EP) (self-released in 2003; re-released on The Leaf Label in 2005), Under Giant Trees mini-album (2007), and One-Sided LP mini-album (2007). "Under Giant Trees" and "Springer" are the two of the hit singles by the group.
