Thebe Neruda Kgositsile (February 24, 1994) is an American rapper, songwriter, singer, and record producer better known by his stage name, Earl Sweatshirt. Kgositsile. Earl began his rapping career in 2008 under the name Sly Tendencies and renamed himself Kgosi after being invited to join Tyler, the Creator's Odd Future group, in late 2009.
At 16, he successfully released his first mixtape, Earl, in March 2010. His mom put him in a Samoan boarding school for troubled youths soon after it came out, and he stayed there for around two years. He had to return to Los Angeles in February 2012, a few months before turning eighteen, because he could not record any songs there. Kgositsile released his debut studio album since reuniting with Odd Future in August 2013 under the moniker Doris.
His following albums, 2015's "I Don't Like Shit" and "I Don't Go Outside," joined his other critically acclaimed works. Kgositsile's new EP, Feet of Clay, came out on November 1, 2019. A few months later, Earl published the deluxe edition of Feet of Clay, and after a year off, he began writing on his second album. Earl's single "2010" was released in late 2021.
Black Noi$e produced Kgositsile's third and final song, "Titanic," which he released on January 7, 2022. The album's producers include Kgositsile, The Alchemist, Black Noi$e, Samiyam, and others. ZelooperZ and the rap group Armand Hammer also make appearances.
