Dominic Cheli Information
Dominic, a native of St. Louis, has played with orchestras all over the world and in the United States, including the San Diego Symphony, Sarasota Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony, Columbus Symphony, Virginia Symphony, Princeton Symphony, Colburn Orchestra, Adrian Symphony, and the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie (Germany). He has collaborated with several conductors, including James Conlon, Gerard Schwarz, and Valery Gergiev. Dominic made his performing debut at several prestigious festivals across the country, including the Virginia Arts Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival, and Ravinia Festival. Shortly, he will perform with the Seattle Symphony, debut at Alice Tully Hall, and return to Carnegie Hall for the fourth time.
Featuring Muzio Clementi's music, Naxos released Cheli's debut album in July 2017. It was praised for its "definitive performances that mix excellent playing with an awareness of Clementi's eclectic, classically based style." Dominic was also awarded first place at the Concert Artists Guild Competition in New York City in 2017.
Dominic was appointed LIVE Director of Tonebase Piano in 2021. He has a fascination with and respect for the advantages of technology, particularly in our current virtual world. He hosts and presents many virtual lectures, performances, and workshops each month to the platform's 5,000+ subscribers.
