DJ Goldie Information
Clifford Joseph Price MBE (September 19, 1965) is a British DJ and music producer. He was born in Walsall, England, professionally known as Goldie. Price debuted in the music industry in 1992 when he contributed to an EP by the Icelandic band Ajax Project. His contribution, titled "Ruffige," was featured on the EP. Price's name was wrongly attached to the song for a long time, maybe because he started using the name "Rufige" for his records around the same time.
Under the moniker "Rufige Cru," he released two EPs on Reinforced: Killa Muffin b/w Krisp Biscuit and the Dark Rider EP. Released in 1992 under the moniker "Metalheads," his single "Terminator" is considered a landmark in developing time-stretching jungle music. An additional 12" by him, Angel, was published in 1993 on the Synthetic Hardcore Phonography label. In 1994, he founded his record label, Metalheadz. In 1995, he released his debut studio album titled Timeless. On the UK Albums Chart, Timeless debuted at position seven. This album combined typical jungle elements like breakbeats and basslines with symphonic nuances and Diane Charlemagne's soulful vocals.
