Diet Cig Information
Diet Cig is an indie rock duo that was formed in New Paitz, New York, in September 2014. The duo’s current lineup consists of Alex Luciano (guitar and vocals) and Noah Bowman (drums). Both of them met at a house show that took place in New Paitz during the 2014 summer. The duo released its debut extended play on February 24, 2015, entitled “Over Easy.” Luciano wrote the album in her bedroom in August 2014. It was recorded in one night on Halloween of the same year.
Diet Cig’s name came from breakfast specials at The Main St. Bistro in New Paitz, where Bowman and Luciano would go nearly every day to have breakfast. The duo released its debut single entitled “Scene Sick” in January 2015 on the independent record label Father/Daughter Records. Diet Cig released another single entitled “Sleep Talk/Dinner Date” on September 18, 2015. In 2016 and 2017, the duo performed songs from its debut album “Over Easy” at the South by Southwest Festivals.
Diet Cig released its debut album “Swear I’m Good At This” on April 7, 2017, on Frenchkiss Records. The album spanned 12 tracks. The duo has since released one more album entitled “Do You Wonder About Me” on May 1, 2010.
