Dierks Bentley Information
Dierks Bentley (November 20, 1975) is an American country music singer and songwriter born in Phoenix, Arizona. After finishing high school in New Jersey at The Lawrenceville School, he enrolled at Culver Academies in Indiana. Following his time at UVM, he transferred to Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee, and earned his degree there in 1997.
Bentley's first album, just titled Bentley, was released by Capitol Nashville in 2003. After the album's release, the first song, "What Was I Thinkin'," topped the US Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. After receiving a nomination for the CMA Horizon Award (now Best New Artist) in 2005, Bentley accepted the invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry.
In 2020, Hot Country Knights, Bentley's side project and a parody band of the country music scene of the '90s, released their music under the Universal Music Group Nashville label. Bentley and his road band performed under various aliases; Bentley goes by Douglas "Doug" Douglason.
The lead single "Gold" from Bentley's upcoming tenth studio album Gravel & Gold was released on July 29, 2022. The album itself was scheduled for release on February 24, 2023. Featuring Billy Strings on Bluegrass, he dropped "High Note" in the same year.
