David Ramirez, a prolific singer-songwriter, has built a sizable fan base because of the emotional depth of his music and the intensity of his live shows. During his youth in Houston, Texas, Ramirez developed a music appreciation and joined a band. Ramirez's band was heavily influenced by '90s alternative rock, and they played mostly parties. However, he became addicted to making music. While in college in Dallas, he listened to an album by Ryan Adams. He became interested in contemporary folk and influential singer/songwriters from the '60s and '70s, especially Bob Dylan. After moving to Dallas, Ramirez created a new band and started creating songs that combined pop music with his new literary ideas. He eventually published his debut album, 11503 Lansbury, in 2003. After releasing 2005's Human and 2007's While Underneath Lights, he decided to disband the band and relocate to Nashville, where he now focuses on acoustic music.
