Tanner, also known as Dack Janiels, was brought up on a diet consisting primarily of skating while he was growing up in the Bay Area of Northern California. After becoming familiar with dubstep, Dack improved his production abilities and endeavored to create his unique music.
His efforts were recognized by prominent personalities in the industry, including Excision, 12th Planet, and Subtronics, which resulted in placements on labels such as NSD: Black Label, Bassrush, Subsidia, Disciple Round Table, and Rottun Records.
Dack is also a co-owner and the founder of the 40oz Cult, a collective based in Los Angeles. The 40oz Cult is a label imprint and merch line that also functions as a collective for skateboarders, artists, and producers.
