Stephen Goss (March 15, 1992) is an American songwriter and rapper. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He started freestyling with friends at a local cipher series when he was in his late teens, and in that same year, he started a band called Pilot Nation. In 2013, after seeing his friend and fellow Boston rapper Michael Christmas achieve early success, he was further inspired to make rapping his full-time occupation. Stizz's debut solo single, "Shoutout," was released in 2014. The song was the product of several months of recording.
Over 12 million people have listened to his debut solo release, Suffolk County, released on SoundCloud on June 1, 2015. A video of Drake performing Stizz's "Shoutout" at the star's birthday party went viral, bringing him even more attention. One of DigBoston's Best Local Albums of 2016 was his subsequent mixtape MONDA, which he dropped in the summer of 2016.
Late in 2016, he inked a deal with RCA Records, and on July 12, 2017, his third album, One Night Only, was released. Produced by Tee-WaTT, Tedd Boyd, Vinylz, FrancisGotHeat, Smash David, WondaGurl, and Dave Sava6e, it features guest appearances from Offset (of Migos), G-Eazy, Big Leano, and Buddy.
Over 8 million people have seen Stizz's videos on YouTube, and three weeks after the album was released, the track "Headlock" with Offset has over 11.3 million streams on Spotify, peaking at No. 12 on Billboard's Next Big Sound chart. Author Shea Serrano of The Ringer is the rapper's biggest fan and thinks his music is motivational.
