Corb Lund Information
Corb Lund is a Canadian Country and Western singer and songwriter from Taber, Alberta. He grew up in Southern Alberta, where he lived on his family’s farm and ranches. To study jazz bass and guitar, Lund left his hometown and moved to Edmonton. There, he enrolled in the Grant MacEwan College.
Corb is well-known as the founding member of The Smalls though they disbanded in the fall of 2001 only to reunite in 2014. In 1995, Lund formed his country trio named “Corb Lund Band.” After the breakup of The Smalls, Lund changed the name of the band and replaced it with “Corb Lund and the Hurtin’ Albertans.”
Corb Lund and the Hurtin’ Albertans released nine albums and toured Australia, Canada, and the United States regularly. Most of the band’s time was spent on the American southwest and Canadian Prairies. The group has also toured across Europe. Corb Lund has worked with a few record labels throughout his career, including New West and Loose Music.
Lund has released many notable studio albums thus far in his career including Modern Pain (October 13, 1995), Unforgiving Mistress (October 22, 1999), Five Dollar Bill (June 11, 2002), Hair in My Eyes Like a Highland Steer (September 6, 2005), Horse Soldier! Horse Soldier! (November 13, 2007), Losin’ Lately Gambler (September 22, 2009), and Countless Blues (June 17, 2017). Lund won the JUNO Awards (Canada) for “Roots and Traditional Album of the Year” in 2006, along with many other awards and nominations.
