Colony House Information
Colony House is an indie rock quartet originating from Franklin, Tennessee. The band’s current lineup consists of Caleb Chapman (lead vocals and guitar), Will Chapman (drums and percussion), Scott Mills (guitar and additional vocals), and Parke Cottrell (bass guitar, keys, additional vocals, and cowbell). The band released its debut album in 2014 entitled “When I Was Younger.” The album reached number 154 on the Billboard 200 and number 3 on the Heatseekers Albums chart.
Caleb Chapman and Will Chapman are the sons of Steven Curtis Chapman, a well-known contemporary Christian musician. Colony House began playing together in 2009, while they were in high school. They describe their sound as “rock n’ roll” with “stripped-down instruments,” influenced by Cold War Kids and U2. The group was named “Caleb” initially when formed but later changed it to Colony House in 2013. The band members started their careers by self-releasing three EPs before releasing their debut studio album on July 22, 2014. The lead single from the album was “Silhouettes.” It received alternative rock radio airplay and became the most downloaded song on SiriusXM All Nation.
On September 29, 2014, Colony House made its debut appearance on Television in Late Night with Seth Meyers by NBC. The group released its second studio album entitled “Only the Lonely” on January 13, 2017. Some other hit singles included in the album are “This Beautiful Life,” “You & I,” “Lonely,” and “You Know It.” The album reached number 76 on the Billboard 200 charts. The band released another album in 2020 entitled, Leave What’s Lost Behind.
