Even though the four musicians in Classical Mystery Tour look and sound like The Beatles, this is not just a tribute band. About two dozen Beatles songs are performed, with no changes to the original arrangements. Hear "Penny Lane" performed with a live trumpet section; marvel at "Yesterday" performed with an acoustic guitar and string quartet; and appreciate the rock/classical fusion on the edgy "I Am the Walrus." Classical Mystery Tour features the finest of The Beatles, from their first work through their solo albums, performed entirely live.
Jim Owen (guitar, piano, and vocals), Tony Kishman (bass guitar, piano, and vocals), Tom Teeley (lead guitar, vocals), and Chris Camilleri (drums, vocals) make up the band Classical Mystery Tour. Many of the Classical Mystery Tour performances are conducted by Martin Herman, who painstakingly copied the musical scores from the Beatles' recordings.
Over 22 years, Classical Mystery Tour has performed concerts with over 100 orchestras around the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia, much to the joy of pop audiences everywhere. The ensemble has performed alongside some of the most illustrious orchestras in the United States, such as the Cleveland Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Boston Pops, the San Francisco Symphony, and many more, and their concerts at the Sydney Opera House were completely sold out.
