Buffalo, New York emcee and producer Che Noir is known for his hard-hitting, no-holds-barred lyrics and East Coast '90s-influenced beats. Her versatility is fully displayed in her discography; for example, she uses nostalgic reminiscences and crime-driven narratives in her albums As God Intended (with Apollo Brown, 2020) and Food for Thought (2022).
Rappers like Foxy Brown, Jay-Z, and the Notorious B.I.G. hugely influenced Marche Lashawn, born in Buffalo in 1994. She started rapping when a classmate in high school showed her how to build beats. At age 21, she started taking music seriously, opening recording facilities in Buffalo and Niagara Falls to concentrate on her initial compositions. She released her first mixtape, Poetic Thoughts, the following year. In 2017, she collaborated with Benny the Butcher on a single titled "Tyson" after being introduced to the legendary Griselda Records group.
In 2018, she started collaborating with 38 Spesh, a rapper/producer from Rochester. She appeared in his Kool G Rap collaboration (Son of G Rap) and his solo albums that year. The Thrill of the Hunt (2018), its sequel (2019), and Juno (2020) were all produced by 38 Spesh of Noir. As God Intended was her second album of 2020, produced by Apollo Brown in Detroit. It was released by Mello Music Group and featured Black Thought (The Roots), Skyzoo, and Planet Asia contributions. Later that year, she released an extended play titled After 12. In early 2022, she dropped her self-produced Food for Thought album.
