Cary Morin Information
Cary Morin is an American singer and songwriter from Billings, Montana. He is the son of an air force officer and a crow tribal member. A major part of his youth was spent in Great Falls, where he used to play the guitar at neighborhood get-togethers. Soon Morin moved to Northern Colorado from where his official music career hit the ground. Morin founded The Atoll, a band, in 1989. The group toured nationally and soon gained a devoted fan following.
Morin gained major international success with his first hit entitled The Pura Fé Trio. “Ole Midlife Crisis” was the single included in the album written by Morin. It hit number 17 on iTunes Blues Chart France. Morin is also well-known for performing at several celebrated venues across the globe, with The Pura Fé Trio, The Atoll, and the solo artist. Some notable events include the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, Paris Jazz Festival, Folk Alliance International, Winter Park Jazz Festival, River People Festival, The Copenhagen Blues Festival, and Shakori Hill Festival.
Morin has produced as well as performed on over 18 recordings. He has also toured across the US, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Denmark, Spain, Belgium, and the UK. Morin has won a long list of awards for his notable work. He earned the 2018 Independent Music Awards in the category of the Best Blues CD. He also won the 2018 International Songwriting Competition, a 2018 Native Arts and Cultures Fellowship, the 2017 Indigenous Music Awards, 2013 and 2014 Colorado Blues Challenge Solo Championship.
