Carrie Manolakos Information
Carrie Manolakos (February 16, 1984) is an American singer, songwriter, and musical theatre actress born in Syracuse, New York. She is best known for her stage work on Broadway's “Mamma Mia!” Manolakos performed as Sophie Sheridan and released a cover song of Radiohead’s “Creep” simultaneously. The song went viral and made her an internet sensation. It was picked up by Gawker Media and used under the title “Eargasm.” The cover song was also performed at Manolakos album release party in Greenwich Village at Le Poisson Rouge.
Manolakos performed in the Mamma Mia! tour for almost six months. On June 4, 2008, she gave her first performance. Manolakos also performed at the Yale Institute for Music Theatre Workshops as Athena on June 25, 2010. On September 1, 2010, she performed in a concert celebrating Alanis Morissette.
During the first run of Disaster! by Seth Rudetsky at Triad Theatre, Manolakos starred as Marianne Reilly from January 22 through March 25, 2012. She also took part in Broadway Remembers Whitney Houston at Joe’s Pub on February 27, 2012.
Manolakos released her debut album entitled “Echo” on April 2, 2012, produced by Dominick Amendum and Justin Goldner. The album reached the top 100 of the iTunes pop charts. Some other albums by Manolakos include Hit List EP (2013), Lizzie (2013), The 44th Chord (2019), Time Between Us (2011), and Thirteen Stories Down: The Songs of Jonathan Reid Gealt (2011).
