Caroline Campbell Information
Caroline Campbell is an American violinist. She was born in Albany, New York. When she was three years old, she enrolled in a preschool class using the Suzuki technique. She gave a solo performance with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of eight. She was chosen as a Presidential Scholar senior in high school and performed at the Kennedy Center. Then she finished high school at the Cleveland Institute of Music while enrolled in the Young Artists Program. She continued her college studies there under David Cerone and Donald Weilerstein.
Chris Botti, a jazz trumpeter, and Campbell frequently collaborate on stage. Botti's most recent CD, Impressions, includes Campbell's song "Oblivion." She has performed as a guest artist with Botti on five continents and traveled with Barbra Streisand in 2012. In addition to performing duets with Andrea Bocelli in his Portofino, Italy, PBS Great Performances concert, and the movie Love in Portofino, Campbell was a featured guest artist on his 2012 U.S. tour.
She is a founding member of Opus X, a classical music quartet featuring British clarinetist Lone Madsen, Japanese-American cellist Kristina Reiko Cooper, and Danish-Russian pianist Tanja Zapolski. Libertango, the group's debut single, was made available on June 10, 2013. Steven Epstein, a Grammy Award-winning producer, worked with Opus X to create their debut album.
