Caitlyn Smith is an American singer-songwriter and musician. She came from a Minnesotan family and spent her childhood in Cannon Falls. On January 19, 2018, Smith's album Starfire was released by Monument Records. Her second studio album, Supernova, was released on March 13, 2020.
Her songs have been recorded by artists such as Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton ("You Can't Make Old Friends"), Avicii ("Chained"), Miley Cyrus ("High"), and Meghan Trainor ("Like I'm Gonna Lose You," a duet with John Legend, #1 on Billboard Adult Top 40 chart).
In July 2016, she dropped the Starfire EP. She confirmed her signing with the newly created Monument Records in January 2017. Smith has performed at major music festivals like Lollapalooza, Bourbon & Beyond, Americana, and Austin City Limits.
Rolling Stone magazine included Caitlyn on their list of "10 New Artists You Need To Know." For the 2022 debut of the drama series Monarch, for which she provided the recording of the theme song, "The Card You Gamble," she was crowned a Monarch.
