Broods Information
Georgia Josiena Nott and Caleb Allan Joseph form the musical duet known as Broods. Early in 2013, Broods was founded in Auckland. Joel Little, a music producer they met while serving as judges at the 2011 Smokefreerockquest, became a part of the brother-sister project. He produced the popular song "Royals" by Lorde. The band's management considered several names before settling on Broods. The band appreciated the song's dual meaning, which related to family and evoked a melancholy mood in the listener. In October 2013, they posted their first song, "Bridges," online.
With the help of Idolator and other music bloggers, the song received over 200,000 streams in a single week. The song was dubbed "a bittersweet synth-pop echo chamber" by MTV. In December 2013, Broods signed deals with Polydor in the U.K., Europe, and Capitol Records globally. In January 2014, the song "Bridges" debuted No. 8 on the New Zealand singles chart. In February 2014, it was selected as the week's top single on the U.S. iTunes Store.
Before their debut E.P., Broods, published on January 30, 2014, the song "Never Gonna Change" was streamable. "Peach," the lead song from Broods' third studio album, Don't Feed the Pop Monster, was made available on August 8, 2018. On September 5, the song video was made available, giving fans their first look at the brand-new Broods. After being dropped by their record company, Capitol Records, following the release of Broods' second album, Conscious, Georgia and Caleb came up with this new look.
