She won the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award thanks to her highly choreographed music videos. Spears started her career on stage and TV before signing with Jive Records at fifteen in 1997. Spears sold more albums than any female artist in the 2000s, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and she is currently the fourth best-selling female album artist in the United States.
Billboard said she was the number eight best-selling musician of the millennium. In 2004, Spears collaborated with Elizabeth Arden, Inc. to release a line of perfumes, already earning over $1.5 billion in sales. Spears topped the Forbes list of highest-paid female musicians in 2001 and 2012. Seven times in twelve years, she was the most-searched celebrity on Yahoo! in 2012.
