His song "Achy Breaky Heart" topped the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart and became Australia's first single to go triple platinum. In the same country, it was the top-selling single of 1992. The music video for that song catapulted the line dance into the mainstream.

Some Gave All sold 4,832,000 copies in the United States in 1992, making it the year's best-selling album.
