Big and Rich Information
Big & Rich is an American based country-rock duo. It consists of John Rich and Big Kenny. They both are guitarists, songwriters, and vocalists. Rich was a bass guitarist of the Lonestar that was a country band, whereas Kenny was a solo artist for Hollywood Records.
Big & Rich released its debut studio album in 2004 entitled “Horse of a Different Color.” The album gave four top 40 country hits to the duo. It included number 11 song entitled “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy).” They had collaborations with Martina McBride, Cowboy Troy, and Gretchen Wilson. The duo released their second studio album “Comin’ to Your City,” followed by “8th of November” that was a Vietnam War inspired single and reached the Top 20 singles chart. Along with this single, they also released two more Top 40 hits. On this album, the duo was joined by Kris Kristofferson, Wilson, Cowboy Troy, and Wilson.
Big & Rich went on hiatus after releasing their third studio album “Raising Hell and Amazing Grace.” The album was released on June 5, 2007. They produced the only number 1 single entitled “Lost in this Moment.” While on their hiatus, both members released their solo albums in 2009, where Rich released Son of a Preacher Man, and Kenny released The Quiet Times of a Rock and Roll Farm Boy.
Big & Rich released a few more studio albums after returning from their hiatus. Some of the albums include Hillbilly Jedi (2012), Gravity (2014), and Did it for the Part (2017). The duo has won the Billboard Music Awards and CMA Awards in 2004, as well as several other awards.
