Ben Folds Information
Ben Folds (September 12, 1966) is an American singer and songwriter. Folds first gained notoriety in the late '80s and early '90s as a member of several smaller indie bands. From 1993 to 2000, and again during their 2011–2013 reunion, he was the named frontman and pianist for the alternative rock trio Ben Folds Five. A number of his solo albums have been released. Folds is no stranger to performing his work with unconventional ensembles, such as symphony orchestras and acapella groups, in his rock and pop compositions.
For Earth Day 2022 on Apple TV+, Folds composed the theme song for the Peanuts streaming special It's The Small Things, Charlie Brown. Additionally, in May of 2022, he appeared in three episodes of the second season of the Amazon Prime Video streaming drama series The Wilds. Ben Folds performed a new, melancholy cover of "Brick" by the Psychedelic Furs and a cover of "The Ghost in You" by Ben Folds and his band in one of the episodes.
Folds revealed the June 2, 2023, release date of his upcoming album, What Matters Most, on February 15, 2023. Debut single "Winslow Gardens" dropped simultaneously with the announcement. As previously announced, What Matters Most will likely be Folds' last rock album. He toured the US and Europe extensively in 2023 to support the record.
