Bassnectar Information
Lorin Ashton (February 18, 1978) is better known under his stage name Bassnectar. He is an American DJ and record producer from Santa Cruz, California. His music style is often described as drum and bass, drum-step, electronica, breakbeat, nu skool breaks, IDM, and downtempo. At the age of 16, Ashton played in a death metal band named Pale Existence. He learned how to be a DJ and began creating his music in the 1990s. Ashton was formerly known as DJ Lorin.
Bassnectar used to play house parties in the San Francisco Bay Area. He often used to play around seven sets in one night. His first album was released in 2001, and in 2002, he performed it under his stage name. Bassnectar performs regularly at several music festivals such as Camp Bisco, Coachella, Bonnaroo, the Electric Daisy Carnival, the Electric Forest Festival, Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival, Lollapalooza, Life is Beautiful Festival, Oregon Eclipse, and a few more. Excluding festivals, Bassnectar sold over 250,000 tickets in 2012.
Deja Voom was a personal festival by Bassnectar in early 2019. He tours no more but hosts his festivals and events. Deja Voom festival had five various stages; Pool Party, Beach Stage, Voom Room, Deja Room, and The Oasis. This festival was held at a resort in Mexico, which is popular as the Riviera Maya from February 27 through March 2, 2019.
