Bad Religion Information
Bad Religion is a punk rock band. The current lineup comprises Greg Graffin, Brett Gurewitz, Jay Bentley, Brian Baker, Mike Dimkich, and Jamie Miller. They made their public debut by opening for Social Distortion with six or eight songs at a warehouse in Fullerton or Santa Ana, California. On November 11, 1980, they played for the first time publicly at Joey Kills Bar in Burbank, California.
Gurewitz founded and runs the independent record company Epitaph Records and released the group's self-titled 7" EP in 1981. In October 2020, Bad Religion dropped an unfinished track from the Age of Unreason sessions called "What Are We Standing For" via streaming services.
Bad Religion dropped a new song, "Emancipation of the Mind," on January 20, 2021. It was recorded at the same time as the Age of Unreason. The song's debut coincided with Joe Biden's inauguration, and its upbeat, anti-Trumpism sentiments set it apart from their previous work. Baker stated that Gurewitz was "starting to dust off his writing boots" in November 2022 and hoped the band's next album would be recorded in 2023.
