Armchair Boogie Information
Armchair Boogie is an American bluegrass/folk band formed in 2014 in the heart of Central Wisconsin. The group’s current lineup consists of Augie Dougherty (banjo and vocals) and Ben Majeska (guitar and vocals).
Armchair Boogie started performing on the Main Street porch in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The band’s one of the initial venues where they started their journey. They kept performing in small venues and soon adopted their current name, Armchair Boogie. Only a rhythm section was missing to propel the genre-defying sound. Until Denzel Connor took over behind the kit in Spring 2017, Eli Frieders (bass) and Dan Waterman (drums) kept the beat going.
The summer of 2017 witnessed a move to Madison, Wisconsin, which is currently home-based. In the spring of 2018, Armchair Boogie released their self-titled first album, and they continue to produce, collaborate, and promote their quirky brand of bluegrass across the Midwest and beyond.
