Anne-Marie McDermott is a classical music pianist from America who attended the Manhattan School of Music. McDermott is a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and is also the artistic director of the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival along with Artistic Director of the Avila Chamber Music Celebration in Curaçao, and the Ocean Reef Chamber Music Festival that is situated in Key Largo, Florida. In her 25 year career, McDermott has played many concerts, recitals, and chamber music in hundreds of cities all across Europe, the United States, and Asia.
Anne-Marie McDermott has been the recipient of the Joseph Kalichstein Piano Prize, the Avery Fisher Career Development Award, the Bruce Hungerford Memorial Prize, the Paul A. Fish Memorial Prize, the Andrew Wolf Memorial Chamber Music Award, and the Mortimer Levitt Career Development Award for Women Artists.
McDermott's notable recordings include the complete Piano Sonatas of Prokofiev (Bridge Records) as well as the complete works for orchestra and piano by George Gershwin. Her Bach English Suites and Partitas recording were named as Gramophone Magazine's Editor's Choice. McDermott also commissioned works of Charles Wuorinen (Fourth Piano Sonata)) and Clarice Assad, which were premiered at Town Hall in New York in May 2009.
