Anitta Information
Anitta (March 30, 1993) is the stage name of Brazilian singer, composer, dancer, actor, and sometimes TV personality Larissa de Macedo Machado, born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Among her many honors are four Latin Grammy Award nominations and four Latin American Music Awards. She was the first artist from Brazil to be voted Best Latin American Act, and she has won eight MTV Europe Music Awards.
As early as January 2013, just after her breakthrough song "Meiga e Abusada" (2012) came out, Anitta inked a recording contract with Warner Music Brazil. In July 2013, she dropped her self-titled first album. It went platinum and had four hit tracks. Among Lusophone nations, her 2014 sophomore studio album Ritmo Perfeito was a commercial success.
The lead track, "Envolver," from her 2022 album Versions of Me, was leaked before the album came out. It was the first solo single by a Brazilian or Latin American artist to reach number one on Spotify's Global Top 50 chart. The Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart saw "Envolver" peak at number one, while Billboard Global pegged it at number two. The 2023 Grammys were Anitta's first big award nomination for Best New Artist.
