André-Philippe Gagnon (December 17, 1962) is a Canadian impressionist and comedian from Loretteville, Quebec. Gagnon is well known for his unique impressionist act and best known for duplicating We Are the World in his unique style. His specialized talent of impersonating the singing voices of various celebrities makes him stand out from his competitors.
Gagnon successfully attracted widespread recognition in North America after making an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The appearance was made in 1985 in which Gagnon went on to play a regular act at The Venetian, located in Las Vegas and many other venues scattered around the world. One of his notable performances includes the SkyDome opening ceremony, which took place in Toronto in 1989 which was broadcasted live on the TVA Channel.
Within two years of his Tonight Show performance, Gagnon performed as a guest on Champs Elysees, one of the most famous French TV shows, and participated alongside Lionel Ritchie. Later on, he performed at the opening ceremony of Calgary's Olympic Winter Games and became the first Quebecer to host The Junos Awards in Toronto.
Gagnon has only released a single discography in his career, L'intégrale [enregistrement sonore]. The album was released in 1991, and the distribution was done by Distribution Select, formerly known as Distribution Musicor.
