Alexi Kenney Information
Alexi Kenney, a violinist, is establishing a career that transcends labels by listening to his passions, instincts, and inner voice. He has performed with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the United States and overseas and is comfortable developing innovative concert programs and commissioning new pieces. The Avery Fisher Career Grant and the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award have been presented to Kenney.
Kenney gave recitals and performed chamber music at Wigmore Hall, Princeton University Concerts, the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center during the 2021/22 season, in addition to solo performances with the Cleveland Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, Orchestra de la Suisse Romande, Indianapolis Symphony, Virginia Symphony, California Symphony, Reno Philharmonic, Eugene Symphony, Princeton Symphony, and New Haven Symphony. In addition to his work with harpist Bridget Kibbey, he has performed in concert as a member of Owls, a new collective quartet featuring himself on cello, violist Ayane Kozasa, cellist Gabe Cabezas, and cellist/composer Paul Wiancko.
Kenney has been a guest leader of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and has appeared as a soloist with the Detroit Symphony, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Sarasota Orchestra, and the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne. He has given recitals at the Phillips Collection, the 92nd Street Y, the Mecklenberg-Vorpommern Festival, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and Carnegie Hall's 'Distinctive Debuts' series, among other venues.
