AJ Croce Information
Adrian James "A.J." Croce (September 28, 1971) is an American singer-songwriter. At the age of twelve, Croce's first paying job was at a bar mitzvah party, paid $20 to cover versions for 25 to thirty minutes. From the age of 15, Croce made his living performing music. Croce was regularly playing sideman and band leader at San Diego bars by age sixteen.
At age 19, Private Music signed Croce on his first recording contract under Ron Goldstein and Peter Baumann. He recorded two albums for Private Music: That's Me in the Bar, produced by Jim Keltner and featuring Ry Cooder and David Hidalgo, and A. J. Croce, his self-titled debut produced by T-Bone Burnett and John Simon.
Recorded in Memphis in 1998, Croce's third album, Fit to Serve, was produced by Jim Gaines, who had worked with the Steve Miller Band, Van Morrison, and Carlos Santana. Released in 2000, Songs on Transit was compared to the works of The Beatles, Elvis Costello, and The Posies. Croce signed with Compass Records in 2013 and released Twelve Tales. In 2014, Croce presented at the independently produced TEDxLaJolla.
