Main Street Armory Tickets Information
The Main Street Armory is a multi-purpose arena located in Rochester, New York. The venue broke ground in 1905 as a training and processing site for the soldiers of the United States Army. The main arena served as the host to several non-military events such as circuses, high school basketball, and auto shows before the mid-1950s. The facility was left by the New York National Guard in 1990 and fell into disrepair, being vacant for a long time. In the mid-2000s, the venue was purchased and renovated by local entrepreneur Scott Donaldson for $1,000.
The Main Street Armory opened to hold events on February 3, 2007. The arena serves as the home field to Next Era Wrestling (2007–2008), Rochester Raiders (CIFL) (2007), Rochester Iroquois (lacrosse), and Rochester Centrals (ABL) (1925–1931). To date, the major non-arena portion of the building is now used as office space. The Main Street Armory was also home to sporting events. Through 1960, the performances in Rochester were hosted by Armory that the Damascus Temple Shrine Circus used as its venue.
Next Era Wrestling's "Fatal Attraction" show was the first post-refurbishment sporting event at the Main Street Armory on February 3, 2007. The event witnessed Jimmy Snuka and Tito Santana (World Wrestling Federation Hall of Famers) in action. The arena also hosted many other wrestling superstars such as Too Cool, The Heart Throbs, and The Latin American X-Change (Homicide and Hernandez) (L.A.X.).
