Gateway City Arts is an entertainment venue located in Holyoke, MA. Situated in the heart of Holyoke’s Arts and Innovation District, the venue was built with the primary mission to strengthen and grow the community. The arena provides the space along with the infrastructure to promote culture and arts. Gateway City Arts was first opened for the general public in 2012. Since its inception, the venue has been expanded, evolved, and repurposed for a better experience.
The two co-directors of the Gateway City Arts, Vitek Kruta and Lori Divine, combined their passion and interests to bring the venue this far. Divine was part of the Board of Directors of the Guild Studio School in Northampton. Being a co-founder of this exciting project was an exhilarating adventure for her. On the other hand, Kruta, a professional artist, set designer, teacher, and art restorer, was trained at the Old World techniques of Fine and Decorative Arts (Germany).
In short, Gateway City Arts is a culmination of Kruta and Divine’s skills, experiences, dedication, and passion. The venue is designed as a platform that supports a wide variety of art. It merely offers countless opportunities to emerging artists of all kinds.
