They help those who aren't as fortunate as others, such as members of underserved areas and people who have jobs that need them to spend a lot of time in the sun, by establishing initiatives that aid in the early detection, promotion of education, and support of prevention of skin cancer.
At-risk and under-served communities are given priority in their programming, which includes free skin cancer screenings, complete multimedia messaging campaigns, skin protection, and self-examination efforts. When caught early, skin cancer has the best survival rate of any major cancer in the United States. By focusing on early diagnosis, education, and prevention, WRC advances the conversation about skin cancer up the life cycle from treatment to survivorship.
