Vincent Pastore (July 14, 1946) is an American actor born in The Bronx, New York. After finishing high school, he served in the United States Navy. He spent three years at Pace University before leaving to pursue a career in acting after making friends with actors Matt Dillon and Kevin Dillon. Pastore spoke on Good Day New York on June 3, 2015, and mentioned that he had worked in nightclubs for nearly 30 years before transitioning into acting in his forties.
Pastore has created a name for himself in Hollywood playing Italian-American mobsters. In the 1990s, he started with bit parts in films like Goodfellas and Carlito's Way. He has a little role as "Vinny Pastore playing "Man with Coat Rack" in Goodfellas when he is seen for a few seconds rolling a coat rack through the kitchen of The Bamboo Lounge. He plays a friend of the Italian man Kleinfeld insults for dancing with Gail in Carlito's Way. According to the credits, he is Vinny Pastore, who portrays Copa Wiseguy.
Pastore was given a larger role in the 1995 comedy/crime film The Jerky Boys: The Movie as Tony Scarboni, one of the three criminals and clients of Lazarro (Alan Arkin). Pastore co-starred with future Sopranos castmates Tony Sirico, Frank Vincent, and Dominic Chianese in the 1996 HBO television movie Gotti, in which he played the role of Angelo Ruggiero. Pastore's breakthrough came in 1999 when he was cast as Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero on The Sopranos.
