Tunde Oyeneyin Information
Makeup artist and Peloton cycling coach Tunde Oyeneyin grew up in Katy, Texas, but she is of Nigerian heritage. She left Taylor High School as a 2004 graduate. She had a tough time maintaining a healthy weight as a kid and was frequently the heaviest girl in her class. Oyeneyin had met other teachers before, but Cody Rigsby's blue checkmark on Instagram convinced her to apply to work with Peloton.
She failed the first test, but after Rigsby's encouragement, she tried again and was ultimately hired. As a response to Black Lives Matter protests following the killings of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery and the shooting of Breonna Taylor and others, she and fellow professor Chelsea Jackson Roberts developed a 30-minute session titled "Speak Up" in June 2020.
One hundred ten thousand people had viewed the class by late July, and it featured music by Black musicians and quotations from other Black Peloton members. She is also well-known for donning outfits that correspond with Peloton's artist series, such as a Beyoncé-themed ensemble for the 2013 Grammys. Oyeneyin was one of the teachers announced for Shonda Rhimes's Year of Yes-themed Peloton courses in December 2020.
