TheoEd Talks Information
For its faith-based speaker series TheoEd, which features prominent figures from the church and the academy, each speaker is given only twenty minutes to deliver a presentation that could easily fill several volumes. Speakers don't give lessons or sermons. Instead, they present polished, note-free TED-style talks to start meaningful conversations about God, religion, and the transformative force of faith.
TheoEd was established at FPC Atlanta under the direction of Ryan Bonfiglio, who served as Scholar in Residence there at the time. The goal was to have influential people from the church and the academy deliver 20-minute "big idea" talks without using notes. The goal of creating TheoEd was to initiate discussions about God, religion, and the influence of faith on individuals' and groups' daily lives and society at large.
In the previous autumn of 2017, the very first TheoEd course was presented. The Candler Foundry at Emory University has since grown and extended TheoEd into a national speaker series. TheoEd's website provides free access to its library of talks, discussion guides, playlists, and other content, to viewers all over the globe. TheoEd's mission is to inspire people to grow in their faith through creative and thought-provoking events and material.
