The Tenors Information
Formerly referred to as The Canadian Tenors, The Tenors is a vocal ensemble that includes Mark Masri, Clifton Murray, Victor Micallef, and Alberto Urso. Songs like "The Prayer," Panis Angelicus, and Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen are part of their operatic pop repertoire, combining classical and pop music elements.
Over sixty worldwide television shows have featured the tenors—Murray from Port McNeill, Urso from Sicily, Micallef, and Masri from Toronto—all Canadian.
They appeared at the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards in 2011, during the 2010 Winter Olympics opening ceremonies in Vancouver, alongside Celine Dion in 2010, and on ITV's Diamond Jubilee Show at Windsor Castle in 2012 for Queen Elizabeth II.
In addition to their appearances at the 85th Annual Rockefeller Tree Lighting, which aired on NBC on November 29, 2017, they were also featured on the broadcasts of the Grey Cup in 2009 and 2016. They were also featured on CBC Television's Holiday Festival of Ice.
At the 2016 San Diego Major League Baseball All-Star Game, Remigio Pereira was kicked out of the group in July for changing the words of the Canadian national anthem and for carrying a banner that said that.
