Rachel Maddow Information
Rachel Anne Maddow (April 1, 1973) is an American news anchor and political analyst born in Castro Valley, California. Maddow is the special event co-anchor for MSNBC and hosts her weekly show, The Rachel Maddow Show. From 2005 until 2010, she had a chat show on Air America Radio under the same name.
Maddow is the first openly anchor to broadcast a major prime-time news program in the US. She received her bachelor's degree in public policy from Stanford University and her Ph.D. in political science from the University of Oxford.
Maddow has won many Emmy Awards for her broadcasting career, and her book Blowout (2019) won the Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album in 2021.
Bag Man, a podcast co-created by Maddow and MSNBC that explores the 1973 political controversy involving Vice President Spiro Agnew, premiered in October 2018. In 2022, it was reported that Lorne Michaels and Ben Stiller would produce and direct a film based on the podcast, with Maddow as an executive producer.
In October 2019, Maddow issued her second book, Blowout: Corrupted Democracy, Rogue State Russia, and the World's Wealthiest, Most Destructive Industry. At the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, held in March 2021, Maddow's audiobook version of Blowout won the Best Spoken Word Album award.
