Nickel City Con Information
When two friends built a little card shop in Buffalo, New York, in 1991, Dave & Adam's Card World began. The firm has become what it is now because of Dave and Adam's love of trading cards and collectibles.
A small crew began attending comic cons across the US to acquire and sell Gold and Silver age comic books in 2013, and Nickel City Con added comic books to its selection of collectibles. To bring the best of what they observed at previous comic book conventions to Buffalo, New York, they started the first Nickel City Con in 2016.
They have worked to bring the best in comic book authors, pop culture icons, movies, gaming, and cosplay to our hometown of Buffalo ever since that inaugural event in 2016. Over 120 celebrities and comic book creators have visited Buffalo for Nickel City Con in its first four years, including Hulk Hogan, William Shatner, Richard Dreyfuss, Sean Astin, Neal Adams, Bob Layton, Ric Flair, Sam Jones, Billy Dee Williams, Nichelle Nichols, Joe Montana, Thurman Thomas, Joe Jusko, Francis Manapul, Kevin Nash, and Lou Ferrigno.
The North Park Theatre began showing movies in 2017 that featured Flash Gordon and Sam Jones. The location was the ideal setting for fans and celebrities to mingle and watch their favorite movies. In 2018, they added more showings, including one of Jaws that had a memorable cameo from Richard Dreyfuss.
